Maybelline Color Elixirs

Maybelline is a very well known drugstore cosmetics brand; in my local mass retailer, Maybelline takes up an entire isle itself, its the brand with the biggest selection. The brand released some new lip products last Fall sometime called Color Elixir by Color Sensational and I, like most, jumped at these little beauties and fell completely in love.

The color elixirs are a really nice gloss that comes in some awesome clear packaging making it look really chic. They have a total of 20 beautiful shades ranging from nudes to deep purples and everything in between. Today I want to share my thoughts on the 3 that I am currently loving.

#005 Breathtaking Apricot: this color while in the tube looks very bright goes on quite sheer giving the lips a beautiful touch of coral

#100 Petal Plush: this shade looks quite dark like a mauve in the tube but its a really nice light pink when its applied to the lips

#055 Glistening Amber: this is a very pretty nude with hints of coral in it, even though in the tube it looks dark, it goes on like the others quite sheer.

All of these glosses are glossy, no stickiness, they don't create pools on the lips like some others, and they actually last a good while. Keep in mind however, the actual shade of your lips will impact how these look on you, so always keep your receipt when you purchase them just in case you don't end up liking the product you can exchange it for something else; these retail for around $9 so its a good one to get when they are on offer at your local drugstore or Ulta.

Something I am really hoping for is that Maybelline will release some new shades in this range come Fall/Winter 2014; they are some of the absolute best lip products in the drugstores these days!

Have you tried any of the Color Elixirs? What did you think of them?
